My live history
WHO AM I? I AM A SONGWRITER. THAT'S WHO I AM. I WRITE POETRY MEANT FOR MUSIC. AND THIS IS WHY.
My musical influences from my youth were kind of mixed,
My parents were singing in a choir. But my grandparents played violin mandolin and guitar.
Those instruments interested me. The shape their sound.
Grandma had a good singing voice too, and she did beautiful paintings.
I recall my other grandparents had this record player in a cabinet. I used to sit in front and look at the vinyl records and play. I remember vinyl records from country musicians like Buck Owens, Jim Reeves, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash, etc. and there were some outstanding Rock’s roll records there like Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly. I used to play Buddy Holly a lot.
The Americana music stays close to my heart, and when I found the music of Bob Dylan at the age of 15, I felt I was coming home. In his lyrics and music, I made the platform for my musical life. He’s the master. The Nobel prize winner. Bob Dylan opened the doors for me and showed me all kinds of music and artists. Blues, country, jazz, folk, or Rock. I discovered British Folk music. It has a massive influence on me. Music I can easily relate to. I feel so close to nature when listening to any folk music actually, but mostly the British.
My Influences other ways come from the Norwegian nature and Norwegian folk music. It’s in my blood, and when I write, it is always when I’ve been out like my Norwegian nature.
You can always hear my Norwegian roots in my songs, even if they are from another world.
